Time scale
How do you know that this script in which the Qur’an is written is a very modern script, and not the first script in which the texts of the Qur’an were written?
In fact, it is difficult to determine the age of this script, due to the scarcity of manuscripts of the Qur’an. And our inability to verify and trust them, because we do not have a technique to determine the age of manuscripts…and there is no confidence in the techniques created by the West to determine the age of manuscripts.
Also, many manuscripts exist in Western countries, and the West claims that they are ancient manuscripts of the Qur’an… and the West is not safe at all.
So how can we determine the age of this line?
There is research on Arabic calligraphy, and historical studies of manuscripts, and there are those who believe that Arabic calligraphy emerged from a certain script, and there is only one inscription called the Namara inscription and another inscription called Thamudic, and researchers have come to rely on this to base their research.
But I am surprised that it is an Arabic calligraphy, and only one inscription (Al-Namara) has emerged from it… because it is the beginnings of Arabic calligraphy.
I am not stupid.. an adult.. I have an educational level. I wouldn’t say excellent, but rather good.. and I don’t know why I don’t find researchers in the field asking a logical question:
Why is all the evidence that confirms a certain date or fact only one piece of evidence?!
I want fifty inscriptions like the Namara inscription… twenty inscriptions… ten inscriptions.
I want twenty stones like the Rosetta Stone….. That’s it, ten inscriptions like the Rosetta Stone.
There is… only one inscription always… in all proofs, proofs and evidence.
Some may not agree with me regarding the techniques for determining the age of manuscripts and believe in Western techniques for determining the age of manuscripts…but the issue will be difficult and expensive and not always available to the average researcher to verify or trust the results.
I want a measure…that is always available to me in the search process. I want to find a measure, and I am not saying an accurate measure that determines age 100%, but an approximate and scientific measure…and I must search for this measure, so that I have a tool. Good at weighing the results and information that I will encounter.
The truth is that through research, many measures of reality can be found, and regarding the topic of the article, I believe that I have another measure of time from reality.
Logically
The vocabulary and language of the Qur’an… will be the vocabulary and language of any book written by an Arab Muslim… whether it is a literary, scientific, etc. book.
As for the script in which the Qur’an was written
We will have two possibilities:
The script in which the Qur’an was written existed before the revelation of the Qur’an.
But there are not enough inscriptions and manuscripts to confirm the existence of calligraphy before the Qur’an.
So this script did not come before the Qur’an. Therefore, logically, this script will be the first script of the Qur’an.
And logically… the script of the Qur’an will impose itself on the Muslim and the Arab… That is, this script in which the Qur’an was written will be the script in which the Arab Muslim writes in all his writings and is not limited to the Qur’an only.
This result is confirmed by the history presented to Muslims. It took a long period (300 years) after the revelation of the Qur’an for most of the heritage books written in this script to appear.
This means…that the Arab and Muslim community needed a long time for this line to take root in it and become valid throughout the region.
So, the first book written in this script… was the Qur’an. This means that this script is authentic from the Messenger.
If we consider the Holy Qur’an…as a phenomenon in Muslim and Arab society…and this phenomenon consists of two parts:
The phenomenon of the Qur’an = the phonetic part + the written part.
———-
Now think with me
If you examine reality carefully, you will find that there is a reality that existed and still exists in most of the societies of the region.
I will talk about my community…in the past
Most of the community that lived in my city memorized the Qur’an by heart… men, women, especially the elderly.
If you watch the elderly… you will find that they read the texts of the Qur’an by heart… even though they were illiterate and did not know how to read or write.
How did they memorize the Qur’an?!
They memorized them in this same way, by heart, from people who were older than them.
Where is the Qur’an in this process?!
If you watch the elderly, you will find them opening the Qur’an and reading, and you think they can read, but they read from their chests and not from the Qur’an, even if the Qur’an is opened in front of you.
If you saw an elderly person reading from the Qur’an, and you closed the Qur’an and opened a random page to him and chose a word and asked him to read it, he would not be able to read it. Even if you gave him another book and asked him to read, he would not be able to.
Strange!
———-
Now think with me
This thing indicates to you…the existence of extreme care and perfection in preserving the word of Allah…in fact, it indicates the existence of a very great holiness towards the phenomenon of the Holy Qur’an.
But the strangest and most amazing thing is
This very great holiness towards the phenomenon of the Qur’an did not include the entire phenomenon, and was limited to extreme care, idealism and great holiness towards the phonetic part of the phenomenon, and the rest of the phenomenon did not include the written part, as people were illiterate and could not read or write… despite the fact that The line of the Qur’an is traceable to the Messenger.
The Muslim’s holiness of the Book of Allah requires memorizing the texts of the Qur’an well… memorizing the letters of the Holy Qur’an’s script, and learning how to write the Qur’an’s script.
Because the authority of holiness is very strong for a Muslim regarding the Book of Allah… the highest book he possesses.
but
This did not happen with regard to the letters of the Book of Allah.
illogical
If the script of the Noble Qur’an were sacred, and the Muslim community had lived for 1,400 years since the revelation of the Noble Qur’an, with such great care and idealism, and with such great holiness towards its highest book… there would not have been an illiterate human being in the Muslim community, and in all of society. They know how to read and write, and all the elderly in my community would be illiterate.
Rather, the region is supposed to be flooded with old manuscripts of the Qur’an in all Muslim homes, passed down from generation to generation, just as they inherited memorization of the Qur’an from memory.
That is, just as Muslim society inherited the phonetic part of the Qur’an with great care, it is assumed that society has inherited the written part, generation after generation.
This is common sense.
So…this script in which the Qur’an is written…is a new phenomenon in Muslim society, and it is not the first script in which the Qur’an was written…and it is not a script that was inherited from the Messenger…and the Muslim did not live for 1400 years since the revelation of the Qur’an. The process of drawing the Qur’an in this way obligated the Arab Muslim community to write in this script.
What is called the Holy Quran… and not a book?
The word Qur’an means…it is a Qur’an of a book
That is, it is certain that all Muslims have memorized the Qur’an by heart… from only one book… there is only one copy of it… and they passed on memorizing it in their hearts for a long period… then a time came, and there was a political authority that was imposed on them. Writing the Qur’an that is on their chests in a physical entity, and in a new script different from the script of the original book.
If you notice that the Qur’an is called the Qur’an in the Ottoman script… and I believe that this script did not appear except during the era of the Ottomans… and they were the ones who imposed it on all the Arab societies that were under their authority.
This time scale…..explains many things to you
■ It explains to you why most of the Arab Muslim community that lived in the Ottoman era did not know how to write or read in the script of their Holy Book.
■ It explains to you why there is a difference in the way some of the vocabulary of the Qur’an found in the current Qur’an is drawn and the way a Muslim pronounces these vocabulary.
■ It explains to you why the fragmented verses that appear at the beginning of some surahs of the Qur’an… are drawn in a coherent manner, while the Muslim reads them in a fragmented form.
■ It explains to you why a Muslim is so keen to read the Qur’an from what has been passed down and memorized by the ancients, and not from the drawing of the Qur’an.
■ Explains to you why a Muslim… considers the inherited, metaphysical memorization of the Qur’an to be binding and arbitrary, while the drawing of the Qur’an is considered non-descriptive and non-binding.
———-
These words do not mean anything except a greater understanding of the truth of the Qur’an, an understanding and awareness of the general history that passed through the region, and an awareness of a measure of time extracted from reality, which will help the reader in sifting through this large amount of information.
