Macron’s conference at the French Institute, which was founded in 1995:

Napoleon took with him 150 mathematicians, doctors, and botanists, and asked them to join a committee of arts and sciences to study the nature and civilization of Misr.

They went with him in the French Revolution and returned with a revolution of knowledge.

His life was a symbol of freedom. He respected the opinion of others. He was the first of the romantics. He was always free and militarily capable, which led him to success and victory. He was rational and tyrannical, as they described him as (the ogre of Europe).

Napoleon embodied our administrative and political system that strengthened this sovereignty after the French Revolution (we cannot judge the circumstances of his accession to power, and I will not enter into these historical mazes).

He founded New France with his genius. He gave France a humanitarian value, a maker of defenders of the monarchy, a worker for national unity, a helping hand and a medallion for French unity.

He created a great paradox as he gave the republic the title of empire, working to perpetuate the revolution over a long period.

In 1789, the French made the greatest effort of all peoples.

Macron’s message to French students:

You are high school students, and even though you are French, you are part of this history, you are its shepherds. You can love that history and you can criticize it, but you must learn it. This history is here and it is building you and it is necessary for you to move on in this century and You must continue this history….Napoleon’s legacy still weighs on us.
