The difference between the story of Musa and Pharaoh in the Qur’an and the Old Testament.

1- The story of Musa and Pharaoh in the Qur’an is news, and it is not a historical story from the past that ended like other historical stories and no longer has meaning or importance as in the book of the Old Testament.

{We recite to you the news of Musa and Pharaon with the truth for a people who believe.}

{And each of us shall relate to you of the news of the Messengers, with which we will strengthen your heart and it will come to you in this truth, and an admonition and a reminder for the believers. (*) These are of the news of the unseen that We reveal to you. Neither you nor your people knew them before this, so be patient. Indeed, the end is for the righteous.}

2- Pharaoh in the Qur’an prevailed in the land and slaughtered its people, and he did not reign in an isolated geographical spot in Sykes and Pico, and he did not slaughter the Al-Yahoud as in the book of the Old Testament.

{Indeed, Pharaon exalted himself in the land and made its people into sects. He weakened a group of them, slaughtering their sons and sparing their women. Indeed, he was one of the corrupters. (4) And We desired to bestow favor on those who were oppressed in the land, and to make them leaders and make them heirs. (5) And to establish for them in the land, and to show Pharaon Haman and their soldiers of them what they feared. }

3- Pharaoh in the Qur’an is a person who is not Egyptian, but rather a conqueror who brought his soldiers to Misr in order to possess it, and not an Egyptian king as in the book of the Old Testament.

{And Pharaon called out to his people, saying: O my people, is not the kingdom of Misr mine?}

4- Musa in the Qur’an is a servant of a Allah whose name is Allah, and he did not worship a Allah whose name is Yahweh as in the book of the Old Testament.

{And when he came to her, he was called, O Musa (11) Indeed, I am your Allah, so take off your shoes. You are in the holy valley of Tuwa (12) And I have chosen you, so listen to what is revealed (13) Indeed, I am Allah, there is no Allah but Me, so worship Me and establish prayer in remembrance of Me (14)}

5- Musa in the Qur’an is a Muslim messenger, and he was not a Jew or a Hebrew as in the Old Testament book.

{And they say, “Be Al-Yahoud” or Al-Nasarah “You will be guided.” Say, “Rather, the religion of Ibrahim is upright, and he was not of the polytheists.” (135) Say, “We believe in Allah and in what has been revealed to us and what was revealed to Ibrahim and Ismail and Ishak, O Yaacoub, and the tribes and what was given.” Musa and Issa And whatever the prophets were given from their Allah, we make no distinction between any of them, and to Him we submit.}

6- Musa’ people in the Qur’an are Muslims, not Al-Yahoud and Hebrews as in the Old Testament.

{And Musa said, “O my people, if you believe in Allah, then put your trust in Him if you are Muslims.}

7- Musa came to Pharaoh with Islam and called him to believe in Allah, Allah of the Worlds, while the Old Testament book speaks of Musa with a national religion and a national Allah, so they did not invite Pharaoh to his religion and left him to his religion.

{They said, “We believe in the Allah of the Worlds.” (121) Allah Musa Haroun. (122) Pharaon said, “Have you believed in him before I give you permission? Indeed, this is a scheme that you have plotted in the city to expel its people from it. Then you will know. (123) I will certainly cut off your hands and your feet on opposite sides, then I will certainly crucify you all. (124) They said, ‘Indeed, I am to Our Allah, we will turn (125) and do not take revenge on us unless we believe in the signs of our Allah when they came to us. Our Allah, pour out upon us patience and cause us to die submitting (126)}

{And We took the Children of Israel across the sea, and Pharaon and his soldiers pursued them in transgression and aggression until, when drowning overtook him, he said, “I believe that there is no Allah but the One in whom the Children of Israel believe, and I am of the Muslims.”}

8- Allah gave Musa a book for the people as a mercy to them and to guide them, and he did not give him a book for a specific human group to create a national religion for them.

{And We gave Musa the Book after We had destroyed the first generations, as insight for mankind and guidance and mercy so that they might remember.}

9- Allah gave Musa a book to be read in a clear Arabic language, and the Pharaohs disagreed about it. He did not give him a book in a foreign language, Hebrew, as mentioned in the book of the Old Testament.

{And if We had made it a foreign Qur’an, they would have said, “If only its verses were explained in detail. Are they foreign and Arabic?” Say, “It is for those who believe a guidance and a cure.” And for those who do not believe, there is deafness in their ears, and it is upon them blindness. Those are called from a far place. (44) And indeed We gave Musa the Book, but they differed over it. And had it not been for a word that preceded from Your Allah, it would have been decided between them, and indeed they are in Doubt about him is suspicious (45)}

10- The Holy Land is a valley in Misr in which the houses of Allah are located, and the Holy Land is not in Palestine as in the Old Testament book.

{And We revealed to Musa and his brother: “Reside in your people’s homes in Misr, and make your homes a qibla, and establish prayer, and give good news to the believers.}

11- Allah spoke to Musa in the Holy Land, which contains the houses of Allah, on the right side of Tur, while in the book of the Old Testament, the Allah Yahweh spoke to Musa in a place other than the Holy Land on Mount Tur in the Sinai desert.

{Have you heard the story of Musa (9) when he saw a fire and said to his people, “Remain. I have seen a fire. Perhaps I will bring you a piece of it or find guidance on the fire.” (10) Then when he came to it, he was called out, “O Musa (11), I am your Allah, so take off your shoes. You are in the holy valley of Tuwa.” (12) And I have chosen you, so listen to what is revealed (13) Indeed, I am Allah, there is no Allah but Me, so worship Me and establish prayer in My remembrance (14)}

{So when Musa had completed the term and was traveling with his family, he sensed a fire from the side of the Mount, and said to his people, “Remain. I have sensed a fire. Perhaps I will bring you news from it, or an ember from the fire, that you may find peace. (29) Then when it came to it, a call was called from the shore of the right valley in the blessed spot of the tree: ‘O Musa, it is I, Allah Allah.’ The worlds (30)}

{Glory be to Him who took His servant by night from Al-Masjid Al Haram to the Al-Aqsa Mosque, whose surroundings We have blessed to show him of Our signs. Indeed, He is the All-Hearing, the All-Seeing.}
