When we say that the word (that) in the sentence (that book about which there is no doubt) indicates that the speech is talking about a book far away from the believers, and the speech does not talk at all about the Qur’an that is in our hands, because (that) is a demonstrative noun used for something far away…. … We start from the fact that the Qur’an’s speech is very precise, otherwise the speech would have chosen the word (this) instead of (that)… and said {This book in which there is no doubt} or {This Qur’an in which there is no doubt}.

Rather, it is correct, natural, and logical… that if the speech had chosen the word (this) instead of the word (that)… the sentence (there is no doubt about it) would not have appeared in the speech… …… Because the word (there is no doubt about it) is only said about something that is far away and absent and not within the reach of people… And it is not correct for the sentence to be {This book in which there is no doubt}… because this book assumes that it has been written. It has become present in our hands and no longer logically requires the phrase (there is no doubt about it).

Evidenced by… that the speech talks about a characteristic of the believers for whom that distant and absent Book will be a guidance… and this characteristic is (they believe in the unseen)… that is, they believe in this absent and distant Book (the Unseen).

{That is the Book about which there is no doubt, a guidance for the righteous – those who believe in the unseen}

Some people objected to this sound logic of the Qur’an’s speech, and they asked questions in order to prove the invalidity of what we said. Among the questions are:

Why is the entirety of this book mentioned in the Qur’an? …..Doesn’t this indicate that the Qur’an means this Qur’an that is in our hands and not another book that is far away, absent and hidden?!

no

So… Why does the phrase (this book) appear in the Qur’an, and what is the difference between (that book and this book)?

If you read the Qur’an’s speech carefully… you will find a note:

When the speech is to the people and believers, the sentence is (that book), and when the speech is to the Messenger, the sentence is (this book), and when the speech is to the people in the presence of the Messenger, the sentence is (this book).

Because (that book) is far from the people and absent from them, and they do not know of its existence, and the mission of the Messenger is to bring out (that book) that is far away, in order for it to be close to the believers, so that the discourse will then become (this book) that is in his hands and in the hands of the believers, so that he recites it to them so that they will know. It is the truth and that they were Muslims before him.

■ That book

1- {That is the Book about which there is no doubt, a guidance for the righteous. (2) Those who believe in the unseen and perform prayer, and spend out of what We have provided them.}

(That book no doubt guidance for the righteous )

A speech to people and believers about that book.

■ This is a book

1- {And they did not appreciate Allah as He deserved, when they said, “Allah has not sent down anything to any human being.” Say, “Who sent down the Book that Musa brought as a light and a guidance to the people?” You make it into writings that you reveal, but you conceal much. And you have learned what neither you nor your fathers knew. Say, “Allah.” Then leave them in their midst playing. (91) And this is a book which We have sent down, blessed and authenticating what is before it, and that you may warn Umm al-Qura and those around it, and those who believe in the Hereafter believe in it and will observe their prayers (92)}

(And this is a book We sent down, blessed.. after Musa.)

A letter to the Messenger… after that book was revealed to the Messenger in order to bring him closer to the believers… so this book became.

2 – {The revelation of the Book, about which there is no doubt, from Allah, the All-Knowing. (2) Or do they say that he has fabricated it? Rather, it is the truth from Your Allah, that you may warn a people to whom no warner had come before you, so that they might be guided.}

(Revealing the Book…to warn the people)

A general speech to the Messenger……. after that book was revealed to the Messenger in order to make him close to the people.

3 – {Then We gave Musa the Book, complete with regard to him who does good, and an explanation of everything, and guidance and mercy, that they may believe in the meeting with their Allah. (154) And this is a Book which We have sent down, blessed, so follow it and fear that you may receive mercy. (155) Lest you say, “The Book was only sent down to two groups before us, though we were unaware of their study.” (156) (157) Or do you say, “If only the Book had been sent down to us, we would have been better guided than they.” Indeed, there has come to you clear proof from your Allah, and guidance and mercy. Who is more unjust than he who denies the verses of Allah and turns away from them? We will reward those who turn away from Our signs with an evil punishment because they turned away. (157)}

(And this is a book We sent down, blessed… after Musa.)

A general speech to the people…about that distant book after it was revealed at that time to the Messenger so that he would be close to the people…so this book became

4 – {Say, “Have you seen if it is from Allah and you disbelieve in it, and a witness from among the children of Israel bears witness to the like of it and believes, but you are arrogant. Indeed, Allah does not guide an unjust people. (10) And those who disbelieve say to those who believe, ‘If it were good, they would not have preceded us to it.’ And when they are not guided by it, they will say, ‘This is an old falsehood.’” 11) And before it was the Book of Musa, a guide and a mercy, and this is a confirming book in an Arabic language to warn those who do wrong and give good tidings to the doers of good. (12)}

(And this is a book authenticated in an Arabic language… after Musa)

A speech to the Messenger and to the people… after that distant book was revealed and became close to the people… so this book became

5- {And this Qur’an was not forged apart from Allah, but the confirmation of what is before it and the detailing of the Book in which there is no doubt from Allah, the All-Knowing. (37) Or do they say, “He fabricated it?” Say, “Then produce a surah like it, and call upon whomever you can besides Allah, if you are truthful.” (38)}

(And it is not the intention of this reader of this book to invent anything other than Allah, but rather an explanation of that book in which there is no doubt.)

A general speech to the people and to the Messenger… after that book was revealed and became close to the people… so he became the reader of this book.

Because this Qur’an that is in your hands now… is nothing but……. the Qur’an (the reading) of that Book which was revealed to the Messenger and became (this Book) to warn Umm al-Qura {And this is a book We have sent down, blessed, confirming what is before it, and that you may warn Umm al-Qura and those around it. {And thus We have revealed to you an Arabic Qur’an so that you may warn the Mother of the Towns and those around it} {A Book whose verses are detailed in Arabic for a people who know}

6 – {And those who disbelieve say, “We will not believe in this Qur’an nor in what is before it, even if you could see.” When the wrongdoers are in custody before their Allah, some of them return to one another in words. Those who were weak say to those who were arrogant. “If it were not for you, we would certainly be believers.”}

A general speech and to the Messenger……….. about that Book (which is before his hands) which is far away and absent… When the wrongdoers disbelieved (in this Qur’an) which is before our hands and in the Book which is before his hands… they disbelieved in both ( That Book and these Qur’an)

Because the infidels… are the ones who hid that book about which there is no doubt from the people, after they canceled this Qur’an that was in the hands of the Muslims of that distant book in order to defeat the Muslims.

{And those who disbelieve say, “Do not listen to this Qur’an, but distort it in order that you may overcome.”}

Because this Qur’an, which is in the hands of the Muslims, is nothing but an elaboration and confirmation of that distant book that is absent from the Muslims and which has been hidden from them.

{This Qur’an could not have been fabricated other than Allah, but it is the confirmation of what is before it and the details of the Book, about which there is no doubt, from Allah, the worlds}

——————–

● {And when We sent to you a group of the jinn listening to the Qur’an, then when they attended it they said, “Listen.” When it was finished, they turned back to their people as warnings. (29) They said, “O our people, indeed we have heard a book revealed after Musa, confirming what was before it, guiding to the truth and to a straight path.” (30) “O our people, respond to the caller.” Allah and believe in Him, He will forgive you of your sins and save you from a painful punishment (31)}

A book revealed after Musa

● {O People of the Book, Our Messenger has come to you, making clear to you much of what you concealed from the Book, and pardoning much. There has come to you from Allah a light and a clear Book (15) with which Allah guides those who follow His pleasure to paths of peace, and brings them out of darkness into light by His permission and guides them to a straight path (16) }

A Messenger to reveal that distant, hidden book that was hidden by the oppressors.

● {Those to whom We gave the book before it believe in it. (52) And when it is recited to them, they say, “We believe in it. It is the truth from our Allah. Indeed, before it we were Muslims. (53) Those will be given their reward twice because they were patient, and they ward off evil with good, and spend out of what We have provided them. (54)}

After the revelation of that distant book and the Messenger made it close to the people, it became (this book)… Then he recited it (read it) to the believers… They said that it is the truth from our Allah… If we were Muslims before Musa.
