What does it mean to follow the religion of Ibrahim?
{Say: Indeed, my Allah has guided me to a straight path, an upright religion, the religion of Ibrahim, an upright one, and he is not of the polytheists. (161) Say, “Indeed, my prayer, my rituals, my life, and my death belong to Allah, Allah of the Worlds. (162) He has no partner, and with that I have been commanded, and I am the first of the Muslims.}
To be a follower of the religion of Ibrahim… Writing on Facebook does not mean that you are a follower of the religion of Ibrahim, nor does it mean that you should tell people that you are a follower of the religion of Ibrahim until you actually become a follower of the religion of Ibrahim.
The meaning of being in the religion of Ibrahim… means that you reject any story that told you that today you, your family, and your society are Muslims because of it, other than the story of the religion of Ibrahim.
In other words… today you and your family are Muslims in this land as an extension of the religion of your father Ibrahim, and today you are not a Muslim according to the religion of Muhammad, which is found in the story of Mecca and which you received from the printer’s books. You are not a Muslim because of the story of Muhammad ibn Abd Manaf. Today you are a Muslim, an extension of the religion Your father Ibrahim.
In other words…the speech wants to tell you that there are those who misled you when they convinced you that the history of your Islam today on earth began with the story of Mecca, and because of this misguidance, you became a polytheist in Allah, because you made your life, death, prayer, and rituals into characters in a story. Mecca is not for Allah. You have associated the characters of the story of Mecca in Ibn Hisham’s biography with Allah….. Therefore, the speech confirms to you that Ibrahim is a Muslim for Allah and he was not one of the polytheists like you are today.
In other words… to be following the religion of Ibrahim… means to believe that the story of Mecca, which made you believe that Islam began from it, is a false story, and has been fabricated to mislead you, and Mecca is not Al-Bayt Al-Haram, but rather a story whose goal is to divert you from the extension of your religion first. Religion in the land that you are in today, and your deviation from the first house, the ancient house, that is, your deviation from the nature upon which Allah created people and which was found with the oldest existing building on earth (Al-Bayt Al-Haram).
In other words…. to be following the religion of Ibrahim…. means that your prayers, rituals, life, and death are all purely for Allah.
Therefore…the speech of revelation demands that you follow the religion of Ibrahim, and links following it to the fact that you will directly realize the fact that the first verse is the one in Mecca and not the one in Mecca:
{Say: Allah has spoken the truth, so follow the religion of Ibrahim, upright, and he was not of the polytheists. (95) Indeed, the first House appointed for mankind belonged to the one in Bakkah, blessed and a guidance for the worlds. (96) In it are clear signs, the standing place of Ibrahim. Allah is sufficient for the worlds (97) Say, O People of the Book, why do you disbelieve in the verses of Allah? Allah is Witness of what you do (98) Say, O People of the Book, why do you turn away from the path of Allah from the believers, seeking crookedness in it while you are witnesses, and Allah is not unaware of what you do (99) O you who have believed If you obey a party of those who were given the book, they will turn you back into disbelievers after you have believed.(100) And how can you disbelieve when the verses of Allah are being recited to you, and among you is His Messenger? And whoever holds fast to Allah has certainly been guided to a straight path.}
Meaning… Follow the religion of Ibrahim, whose home is in Mecca, and do not follow the religion of Muhammad bin Abd Manaf, whose home is in Mecca.
Therefore, he made the revelation the beginning of the story, with Ibrahim’s call to send a messenger among them to teach them the Book:
{And when Ibrahim raised the foundations of the House and Ismail, “Our Allah, accept from us. Indeed, You are the Hearer, the Knowing. (127) Our Allah, and make us Muslims to You and from our descendants a nation submissive to You. Show us our rituals and turn to us. Indeed, You are the Most Merciful. (128) Our Allah, and send among them a Messenger from among themselves who will recite to them Your verses and teach them the Book and the Wisdom and purify them. Indeed, You are the Mighty, the Wise (129)}
He made the revelation the end of the story by sending a messenger from among them to teach them the Book to lead them out of error:
{It is He who sent among the unlettered people a messenger from among themselves who recites to them His verses and purifies them and teaches them the Book and the wisdom, even though before they had been in clear error.}
{And strive for the sake of Allah as He deserves His striving. He has chosen you and has not placed upon you any hardship in religion, the religion of your father Ibrahim. He called you Muslims before and in this so that the Messenger may be a witness over you and you may be witnesses over the people. So establish prayer and pay the poor-rate and hold fast to Allah. He is your Master. So what a good Master and what a good Helper.}
